Artist's Comments

My newest painting, done in oils. A very special thanks to Dave Dorman who shared his painting techique with us at the Gnomon Live event on April 1st. I painted this treating the oil paint alot like watercolor as Mr. Dorman explained in his seminar. Sorry for the glare, I just couldn't get an angle where there wasn't any glare. * Update: I reworked the original so that there is a pool of light on the figure. This is something I recently learned about from a good friend and coworker.

Don't worry about the glare, it's hardly noticeable. This is the usual, twisted sort of thing I love seeing you draw. I can probably guess a few places from which you drew inspiration, but as for the painting style I think it is something you should run with. It really works well with your style and I'd like to see more of your work using it.

Beautiful work! Very eerie and well done, I especially liked the contrast between the texture of the wall and the folds in the skin. :)
